National Knowledge Platform for Hydrogen

Guided by their regional roadmaps, seven Dutch regions are identifying and developing expertise in green hydrogen applications. A key question is ‘How can this knowledge be effectively conveyed to professionals both now and in the future?’. GroenvermogenNL’s Human Capital Agenda is launching the online National Knowledge Platform for Hydrogen to address this challenge.

The Human Capital Agenda is developing an efficient online platform to facilitate knowledge gathering and sharing among regions. The online National Knowledge Platform is designed to offer current and aspiring professionals rapid access to hydrogen research insights, with particular emphasis on studies within the GroenvermogenNL programme, of course. They can transform this knowledge into practical skills for the hydrogen transition, ensuring that the pace of developments does not slacken.

Status: developing a prototype platform

Seven regions are joining forces to create the National Knowledge Platform, starting with the development of a prototype. Building on existing platforms, the new platform provides a range of opportunities for knowledge sharing, granting access to a wealth of expertise.

An A to Z guide for green hydrogen

The National Knowledge Platform serves as the A to Z guide to green hydrogen for current and aspiring professionals. If they need to install a fuel cell or maintain a hydrogen network in the course of their work or studies, they can turn to clear instructional videos, for example, or other professionally designed educational tools. Safety is paramount when working with hydrogen, which is why the Knowledge Platform implements a mandatory certification system.

Practical learning pathways for hydrogen applications

The National Knowledge Platform provides a solution for the growing number of people entering the hydrogen sector. It provides the means to swiftly deliver practical learning pathways for a broad spectrum of hydrogen applications. GroenvermogenNL offers an organisational plan to ensure continuity and promote effective coordination with the businesses, knowledge institutes, and educational institutions across the regions.

The National Knowledge Platform will release a demonstration version before the close of 2024.

The National Knowledge Platform:

  • Is a digital learning environment
  • Opens the doors to new knowledge
  • Summarises the range of available training courses and programmes
  • Is linked to other platforms
  • Fosters community building
