H2 Impactmakers: XINTC’s Thorsten Holtmüller
Because every hydrogen project is built on ambition, challenges and hope for the future. We talk to project leaders, CEOs, researchers and other pioneers. What motivates them? What have they learnt along the way? How do they contribute to a sustainable hydrogen economy? We asked Thorsten Holtmüller, business development manager at XINTC, five questions about the H2Plein project.

GroenvermogenNL and Shell to explore the development of an open innovation centre for electrolysers in Emmen (NL)
A testing site for hydrogen electrolysers has been proposed at NAM’s former gas purification plant in Emmen [EmmHy on the GZI Next site]. Over the coming months, GroenvermogenNL and Shell will detail their plans and seek out collaborators. Extant structures and preconditions in Emmen look promising for a rapid start to the open innovation centre.

New cooperation between TNO and GroenvermogenNL for green hydrogen innovation and upscaling
TNO and GroenvermogenNL will cooperate on green hydrogen. The two signed an agreement to this end on 6 February 2025, marking the start of a multi-year programme aimed at accelerating innovation and the scaling up of electrolysis for green hydrogen production. As a result there is now an open innovation centre where long-term testing on electrolysers can be conducted

‘The progress of the hydrogen transition is powered by market forces’ interview with Bert den Ouden, Project Director HyXchange
The EU’s regulatory pressure threatens to stall green hydrogen development, potentially leaving the Netherlands at risk of missing out. Yet, according to Bert den Ouden, Project Director at the HyXchange hydrogen exchange, there is cause for optimism. This is because, by providing market transparency, this hydrogen trading platform helps to balance supply and demand. 7 questions for Bert.

Interview Anne-Frédérique Demaerel, Global Business Expert Large Industries – Electrolyzers Accelera by Cummins
Demand stimulation of green hydrogen is definitely possible. But this requires all parties involved to work together in parallel on policy, energy costs, infrastructure and grid connection.

Launch of research project on green hydrogen production technologies the largest of its kind
With 58 partners, a grant of over €34.5 million and a total budget of over €50 million, GroenvermogenNL's new HyPRO project is the largest R&D project into green hydrogen in the Netherlands to date. This R&D project was approved this week by the Dutch Research Council NWO. The consortium will research more sustainable production of hydrogen by improving electrolysis & plasma technology: “at the heart of the hydrogen revolution.”

Meet GroenvermogenNL at the World Hydrogen Summit 2024
The World Hydrogen Summit 2024 in Rotterdam is the place to gain knowledge, inspiration and contacts for those interested in green hydrogen. As an innovation engine of the green hydrogen economy, it’s needless to say GroenvermogenNL will be there. On Tuesday, May 14, we welcome people to the NL Pavilion who want to contribute to the acceleration and scaling up of green hydrogen.
