Pilot projects prove green hydrogen’s potential in the Netherlands
GroenvermogenNL aims to stimulate and accelerate the use of green hydrogen by Dutch industry to enable the energy transition. One of the ways the organisation does so is by supporting pilot projects using the Demonstration of Energy and Climate Innovations (DEI+) subsidy scheme. Some 12 different projects are currently underway which truly make innovative hydrogen applications tangible. In the province of Drenthe (NL) the decision has already been made to commercially manufacture hydrogen.

Participate in Hydrogen Emissions Measurements
TNO’s MEETH2 project was recently awarded a € 524,900 subsidy by GroenvermogenNL to catalogue hydrogen emissions in the Netherlands. The goal being to acquire more knowledge of emissions throughout the value chain with the aim of optimising processes and determining whether, and to what extent, additional policy is required for emission standards. TNO calls on stakeholders to participate in the measurements and to co-conceptualise the measurement approach.

New cooperation between TNO and GroenvermogenNL for green hydrogen innovation and upscaling
TNO and GroenvermogenNL will cooperate on green hydrogen. The two signed an agreement to this end on 6 February 2025, marking the start of a multi-year programme aimed at accelerating innovation and the scaling up of electrolysis for green hydrogen production. As a result there is now an open innovation centre where long-term testing on electrolysers can be conducted
