The NGF call ‘Op Weg Naar de Toekomst’ Learning communities als aanjagers voor de groene waterstofeconomie’ will be launched.The National Growth Fund programme GreenNL aims to accelerate the green hydrogen transition by stimulating investment, promoting innovation and capturing opportunities for scale-up.

This requires many well-trained professionals and professionals with the right knowledge and skills. For this reason, GroenvermogenNL has drawn up the human capital agenda (HCA) in 2021 in cooperation with a large number of stakeholders. A budget of €26,800,000 is available for this call.

Purpose of the call

To deploy new knowledge on the labour market, GroenvermogenNL connects knowledge development with regional learning communities where innovation, learning and working come together. In deze learning communities worden de resultaten van onderzoek geïmplementeerd en verder ontwikkeld. In this way, GroenvermogenNL gives substance to skills valorisation: valorising new knowledge from research and innovations by developing the skills of professionals and students.[HB[1]

This call encourages research into regional solutions for creating and shaping a responsive ecosystem of work, learning and innovation through practice-based research. Together, these regional ecosystems form a national ecosystem of working, learning and innovation to accelerate the hydrogen transition. This call for proposals aims to contribute to knowledge development for the benefit of this ecosystem as a whole.

The call is expected to open in July 2024.

€26,800,000 is available for research from the National Growth Fund programme GroenvermogenNL. Seven applications can be awarded in this call for proposals, each from one region in the Netherlands.

Call procedure

The planning for this call for proposals consists of three phases:

  • Register for workshops (until 15 October 2024);

During these workshops, the participating parties for each region will work towards one regional consortium and one application for each of the seven regions. Registration for the workshops will be via open registration.

About the National Growth Fund programme GroenvermogenNL

This call for proposals is part of the National Growth Fund project Groenvermogen NL. This project is the GroenvermogenNL investment programme for the Dutch economy and community. Through this programme, green hydrogen should become the pulling force for the transition from a fossil-based community and industry to a sustainable energy supply.

This call encourages research into regional solutions for creating and shaping an ecosystem of work, learning and innovation through practical research. Together, these regional ecosystems form a national ecosystem of work, learning and innovation to accelerate the hydrogen transition. In 2022, the GroenvermogenNL proposal received an allocation from the National Growth Fund.
