Subsidy scheme for carbon-neutral hydrogen production. Register now for the information session on Thursday November 9 in Utrecht
Information session Thursday, November 9 in Utrecht
GroenvermogenNL supports innovative companies and knowledge institutions committed to large-scale, cost-efficient production of carbon-neutral hydrogen. Do you want to participate and be at the forefront of the promising developments around green hydrogen? Sign up now for the information session on our new subsidy scheme on Thursday, November 9 in Utrecht. Afterwards there will be drinks and plenty of opportunity for networking.
Registration for the information session
De call for proposal is published at NWO website, you find it here.
Interesting future for green hydrogen
GroenvermogenNL wants to accelerate the hydrogen economy in the Netherlands. For example, by 2030 we want to be ready to use green hydrogen as a carrier and energy source in the mix. This is not only important for the climate goals, but it also offers interesting economic opportunities. Also for your organization.
Subsidy scheme for carbon-neutral hydrogen production
We are encouraging the hydrogen economy with several schemes. We expect to open a new call this month aimed at making carbon-neutral hydrogen. For this we have a grant budget available of €35 million.
Subsidy now also available for companies
This is a special call:
- In addition to knowledge institutions, companies may also apply for subsidies (up to a maximum of 40% of their investment costs).
- Questions from business are central. What do we need in practice to accelerate hydrogen production?
- There is no competition between different applications. As a participating party you work together with other companies and institutions on one project plan.
- Beforehand, you participate in 2 workshops of 2.5 days to form a consortium and develop a project plan.
Potential subjects for a project plan
The call supports R&D at TRL levels 2-6 and may include, for example:
- development and improvement of AWE and PEM electrolysis technology, as well as the development of Dutch supply chains for materials, components and systems for AWE and PEM electrolyzers;
- Development, analysis and testing of technological innovations that improve the performance of AWE and PEM electrolysis technologies, including power electronics and compression as parts of the production chain;
- R&D of new generation electrolysis processes, such as AEM and SOEC electrolysis, including radically new concepts;
- R&D of CO2-neutral hydrogen production from industrial residual gases.
Planning
As of now you can register as a company or knowledge institution: submit an Expression of Interest no later than November 24, 2023. After this, you will participate in the workshops, which will take place in January 2024. The deadline for complete applications is April 25, 2024.

On Thursday, November 9th, GroenvermogenNL and NWO are organizing an information session on the call focused on the production of carbon-neutral hydrogen. We will then give more information about the R&D program, the content of the call and the application procedure.
