The Hydrogen Guide 2023 is an important milestone for the Dutch hydrogen industry. The booklet provides a comprehensive overview of the most recent developments and innovations in hydrogen in the Netherlands. With this in mind, it is no surprise that Liesje Schreinemacher, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, was handed the very first edition at the World Hydrogen Summit (WHS).
Focus on sustainable solutions
The guide seeks not only to promote the Dutch hydrogen industry, but to encourage international cooperation and trade as well. Doing this will involve both public and private parties. The focus is on the creation of sustainable solutions for the energy transition.
The Netherlands already occupies a healthy position in Europe in terms of hydrogen technologies and use. As such, we have built up considerable expertise in hydrogen production, storage and distribution. There are also countless businesses focused on developing new applications for hydrogen, including fuel cells and electrolysers.
This guide is designed to help the Netherlands to expand its leading position by focusing on international cooperation and trade. By sharing our knowledge and experience with other countries, we can contribute to a global transition towards sustainable energy.
Business profiles
In addition to information about the Dutch hydrogen industry, the guide also contains nearly 200 business profiles. These give international businesses a clear idea of what the Netherlands has to offer in terms of hydrogen. This could lead to new partnerships and trade opportunities.
The guide has been put together by RVO and partners FME, Topsector Energie and TKI Nieuw Gas as part of the International Clean Energy Partnership (ICEP) trade promotion programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, making it a joint initiative between the Dutch hydrogen industry and the government.
An update to the guide will be released each year so that it remains current. Businesses not yet featured in the current guide can contact RVO/ICEP at pwi@rvo.nl or FME at hydrogen@fme.nl to register for the next edition.
