Regional liaisons and learning communities

Industrial clusters in the Netherlands tend to have differing aspirations when it comes to green hydrogen. GroenvermogenNL’s Human Capital Agenda divides the Netherlands into seven regions. Each region has devised a roadmap setting out its aspirations for the hydrogen transition and the actions required to make them a reality. In this framework, they are teaming up to develop two national projects: a network of learning communities and a National Knowledge Platform.

In 2023, the six industrial clusters started work on their regional roadmaps. For 2024, the key focus was the delivery of the roadmaps, complete with a multi-year action plan and an investment agenda. In 2025, implementation will commence in each region, driven by robust partnerships. To this end, the call entitled Op Weg Naar de Toekomst. Learning communities als aanjagers voor de groenewaterstofeconomie (The road to the future: Learning Communities as drivers of the hydrogen economy) has been officially opened.

Regional liaisons and regions

We identify seven regions that broadly correspond to the Netherlands’ industrial clusters. In every region, one or more liaisons bring together consortiums made up of companies, educational institutions, and research organisations to fast-track skill development in their respective regions. GroenvermogenNL facilitates coordination between the regions at national level.

Learning communities

To accelerate the green hydrogen transition, fresh insights from innovations must be swiftly incorporated into education programmes and training courses to equip professionals with essential expertise and skills. Within GroenvermogenNL, innovation institutes and research institutes work hand in hand with businesses and educational institutions to make this happen. That takes place in learning communities.
